Twelve hours before I leave for the airport. My suitcase is partway packed, and I feel about as ready as I ever will (doubt I'm going to sleep much tonight). I'm looking forward to being in Spain and getting the plane ride out of the way. I hope that it will be more humid in Spain and that it will rain more than it does here (though, of course, the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plains). I'm both excited and nervous to being staying with a host family, and very excited to attend a university in Spain. I am looking forward to learning to get around Oviedo and seeing how people live there.
I am nervous about being surrounded by the Spanish language all of the time and not understanding all of what is being said. I hope that my conversational Spanish improves quickly and that I'll be able to communicate well with my host family. I'm excited to meet them and to live with them for the five weeks.
